- Set strong passwords. You should put passwords that are not easy to guess. For this to be the case, your password must have at least 8 characters and include a number, an uppercase letter and a lowercase letter. Using a strong and secure password is the most important thing to protect your privacy.
- Step verification. Apple offers you optional security enhancement in two-step verification. It consists of verifying your identity using one of your devices before you can sign in to iCloud from a new device or from the iCloud website.
- Be careful what you post. If you do not want your privacy to be seriously compromised, you should take into account what you save. Avoid saving risqué photos or files that could harm you. If you want to have this type of files you can save them on an external hard drive, put passwords on the folders and only use it yourself. Delete what you don’t want to keep.
- Do not share your passwords. It is important that you do not share your passwords with family or friends. Your iCloud account is yours and you can only show what you manage and want others to see… the rest is up to you.
- Turn off the photo gallery. If you do not use the photos regularly it is a good option to deactivate it to improve your privacy. To deactivate photo synchronization, you will only have to do the following steps on your iOS device: Settings – iCloud – Photos – turn off or disconnect photo gallery.
